How do I install the Refworks Tool in Microsoft Word?
To install Refworks as a plug-in to your copy of Word, you first have to know what version of Word you are using and whether it is the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version.
To find this out:
In Office 2013 and 2016
1. Open an Office Word.
2. Click File > Account.
3. Click About Word.
In Office 2010
1. Open an Office Word.
2. Click File > Help.
3. Under About Microsoft Word the version is listed with the platform.
Once you know the version you can install the required version. First, make sure you are logged in to your Refworks page and then:
For Word 2016 and newer you have to download it directly from the Word Store at Microsoft.com.

For older versions, you will need to download the tool from the Refworks site, in the area called Tools.
Once you know what version you have you can go to the Tools page in Refworks and download the correct plug-in.
Here’s the link to the tools page for Word. To go straight to the page with the link, it will be easier if you have logged in to Refworks first before clicking the link.
